Nutrivene D Daily Supplement
Trisomy 21 overexpresses genes including SOD1, CBS, and APP. That is used to justify high-dose antioxidants, one-carbon support, mitochondrial cofactors, and selected amino acids/polyphenols. Large controlled trials have not shown clear developmental benefit; this is the mechanistic story the formula is built on. bmj.com
Oxidative stress (SOD1)
Extra SOD1 converts more superoxide to H₂O₂ without a matching rise in catalase/GPx, plus APP-related ROS and mitochondrial leak. High C, E, A, glutathione, R-ALA, CoQ10, selenium (GPx cofactor), zinc, manganese, quercetin, luteolin, rutin, lutein/zeaxanthin are meant to mop up H₂O₂/ROS and support the downstream enzymes.
One-carbon / methylation “trap” (CBS)
Extra CBS drains homocysteine into cystathionine, lowering methionine, SAM, and folate cycling. 5-MTHF, methyl-B12, B6 (P5P + HCl), betaine (TMG), choline, and B-complex vitamins are intended to refill the methionine/SAM pool and bypass the trap.
Mitochondria & energy
DS cells often show impaired OXPHOS and higher ROS. Acetyl-L-carnitine, CoQ10, R-ALA, alpha-ketoglutarate, taurine, and B vitamins target electron transport, fatty-acid entry, and Krebs intermediates.
Neuroinflammation / APP–AD overlap
APP overexpression plus chronic ROS promotes amyloid and microglial activation. Luteolin, rutin, quercetin, and carotenoids are included as anti-inflammatory/neuroprotective polyphenols.
Amino acids & other DS-associated issues
Glycine/proline (connective tissue, hypotonia theories), tyrosine/tryptophan/histidine (neurotransmitter precursors), ornithine (GH/sleep in the related nighttime product), taurine and glutathione (antioxidant/osmolyte). Minerals (Mg, Zn, Se, Cr, Mo, I, K, Ca, B, silica) address reported low levels, thyroid/immune support, and enzyme cofactors.
