JULY 9 2019 LET’S DO SOMETHING DIFFERENT HERE.

We get so caught up in trying to help our children that we sometimes forget how very much they do for us on a daily basis. Certainly, we have to be diligent to insure they have healthy, happy lives. I understand that as well as you do. But we don’t want to be so invested in tending to their needs that these amazing kids get lost in the process.

We have been blessed with priceless gifts. Even though they may come to us with a “to do” list, if you think about it, all children do.

Let’s stop and smell the roses. Our children bring with them a full and beautiful bouquet.

What have you learned from your child with DS? Your responses will encourage others.

  • Dixie Lawrence Madison has taught me a lot about faith. That it is not blind or without reason but something tangible. She teaches me to take things calmly, as she does, and to save becoming upset for things that actually matter. If the world were made up only of people with DS, it would still go on, but it would be a kinder, gentler place to live.

He has taught me patience and made me a better version of myself. I am truly grateful for my two special kids and feel I have found my main purpose for this life X
